Trainees also come from the Mount Sinai Urban Health Institute and Malcolm X College. Through its Citizen Scientists Program, this program seeks to have a lasting effect on public health in Chicago through the training of an indigenous corps of community health workers that can support community interventions in a range of health areas, even after the COVID-19 pandemic recedes.
Recently this group has begun to work on the equitable promotion and delivery of COVID-19 vaccines.
