New Members of the Illinois General Assembly.
IGPA, in conjunction with the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability hold the New Members of the Illinois General Assembly Conference. The conference is traditionally held during veto session. The Institute of Government and Public Affairs is the place where world-class research and policy meet. We help connect the scholarship at our three Universities with the decision-makers in Springfield and Washington, D.C. The people of Illinois have made a great investment in the University of Illinois System, and IGPA helps to return on that investment by serving as the People’s Policy Think Tank and supporting that can improve their lives. IGPA is a resource for elected officials and staff. We share our reports but we are also here to help in several ways, including consultation and testimony. With topics ranging from grocery taxes and air pollution to housing violations and farm bill mapping, IGPA investigates important and timely issues in Illinois. We see the work we do as a conversation with you all and we want to be responsive to the policy needs of the state.
