IGPA invites you to our next faculty coffee chat on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 9 – 10 am CT, virtually, on Zoom.
We’re hosting Dr. Chi-Fang Wu to speak about Promoting Continuous Medicaid Enrollment: Data-Driven Evidence to Increase Health Equity, Improve Quality of Care, and Optimize Policy. Dr. Wu will discuss the Medicaid program, and coverage disruptions caused by administrative barriers and income volatility present a persistent challenge. The study also evaluates the impact of the 90-day reinstatement policy, and the interim findings that highlight the policy’s potential in supporting more stable coverage.

Dr. Wu Chi-Fang Wu is a Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on poverty and the evaluation of public benefit programs that support economic mobility for women and enhance the well-being of low-income families. She investigates how combinations of income support programs assist single mothers across diverse employment contexts and explores ways to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of public health insurance. One of her current projects centers on expanding healthcare coverage and improving health outcomes for Medicaid beneficiaries and low-income populations. Dr. Wu brings deep expertise in analyzing complex, longitudinal state administrative data and nationally representative datasets, applying advanced statistical methods to inform policy and practice.
