IGPA Faculty Coffee – Introduction to IGPA’s new director Ben Superfine and his research

The Institute of Government & Public Affairs invites you to our next faculty coffee on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 9 – 10 am CT.
IGPA will be hosting new director Benjamin Superfine for a meet and greet with faculty and to introduce his areas of research.
Superfine’s academic journey includes roles as a visiting scholar at IGPA and chair of the educational policy studies department at UIC. He has also founded the Research on Urban Education Policy Initiative at UIC, demonstrating his commitment to fostering informed dialogue on educational policies affecting urban areas.
His interdisciplinary approach to research, integrating perspectives from law, history, and social science, underscores his contributions to the field of educational policy. Superfine’s work has been published in esteemed journals, and he is currently involved in a National Science Foundation grant aimed at developing research-practice partnerships with urban school districts.
In his new role at IGPA, Superfine will be instrumental in advancing public policy research across all three campuses of the University of Illinois System, continuing IGPA’s longstanding tradition as a pivotal player in shaping public policy in Illinois and beyond.
