ABOUT

Betsy Goulet is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois Springfield, with appointments in the Department of Public Administration, the Center for State Policy and Leadership and serves as the Director of the newly developed Alliance for Experiential Problem-Based Learning.  Dr. Goulet also has an appointment with IGPA, serving as co-lead of the Education, Learning, and Child and Family Well-Being Working Group.  She has over 30 years of practitioner experience in the child welfare field, establishing one of the earliest child advocacy centers in the country and training hundreds of child protection professionals.  Through a partnership with Illinois DCFS, Dr. Goulet created a new simulation training model that is now featured on a national Children’s Bureau website.  Most of her research is focused on child protection, mandated reporting, and victim advocacy.
