New IGPA report finds similar impact on small businesses in Illinois and neighboring states during COVID-19 pandemic, regardless of restrictions

Small businesses in Illinois and bordering states fared similarly through the COVID-19 pandemic, regardless of the timing or duration of stay-at-home orders aimed at slowing the virus, according to an analysis from the Institute of Government and Public Affairs released today.

The report comes from IGPA’s Task Force on the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic. It examines how businesses in Illinois were doing during earlier months of the pandemic compared to their Midwestern neighbors in Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin. Read the full report here
