IGPA's Kathy Sullivan named Assistant Director for Programming and Outreach

IGPA has named Kathy Sullivan as Assistant Director for Programming and Outreach, interim director Jon S. Davis has announced.

Sullivan will take an entrepreneurial view of IGPA’s programs related to education and leadership. These currently include the Edgar Fellows Program, NEWLeadershipTM Illinois, and the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government. She also will work to identify new programs and other methods to provide policy-related education and the best policy information state legislators, state executive branch agencies, civic groups, associations and others.

Sullivan will work closely with other System offices and the three universities to identify new programs that align with IGPA’s strategic goal to connect the University of Illinois System’s policy research with those outside the University who want and need the information.

Sullivan joined IGPA in June 2009 as Coordinator of Programs and Events. Before joining the University of Illinois System, she served as downstate director for the office of then-Sen. Barack Obama. She has a Master’s degree in public administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and communication from Millikin University.
