IGPA seeks a student web developer. This is a great opportunity for a student with the right skill set to broaden his or her horizons and to contribute to a robust research environment.
The Institute of Government and Public Affairs seeks a University of Illinois student to serve as a part-time web developer to maintain our primary website, which soon will be managed by Drupal. Duties include programming, basic graphic design, content management and consistent communication with institute staff.
You will be expected to be easily available to respond to technical problems as they arise. There will also be opportunities to develop projects related to the continued development of the website.
Skills: Knowledge of HTML and CSS web standards is required. A strong background in PHP and MySQL application development is also essential. Experience with the Drupal content management system will increase your chances, but we encourage you to apply regardless. Experience with Flash and Photoshop also preferred. Must be good at basic life skills - prompt and punctual, respond promptly to emails, and maintain a professional attitude in the workplace.
Pay will be commensurate with experience with a minimum of $12/hour. Please email or mail a cover letter that details your web development experience and resumé to: Jim Paul, Director of Communications, IGPA, 1007 W. Nevada, Urbana, IL 61801. The University of Illinois is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
