Mike McCormick is an attorney in the law firm of Erwin, Martinkus & Cole, Ltd., in Champaign, where he concentrates in the areas of corporate law, business law and real estate.

Mr. McCormick is a former member of the Illinois State Labor Relations Board having been appointed to the Board effective January 11, 1999, by then-Gov. Jim Edgar.

Mr. McCormick was elected to a four-year term as Johnson County State’s Attorney; worked as the District 9 Technical Advisor for the Illinois Department of Transportation, and served as Senior Personal Assistant to Governor Edgar between the years of 1995 and 1999. The latter position involved advising the governor on issues pertaining to local government, legislation, interest groups and a variety of legal matters.

Mr. McCormick continues to work with former Gov. Edgar at the Institute of Government and Public Affairs. His father, C.L. McCormick, was a 20-year veteran of the Illinois House of Representatives.

Mr. McCormick earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law.
