Jim Paul is the Assistant Director of IGPA. He is responsible for overseeing the institute's operations at each of its three locations. He also directs all aspects of the institute's internal and external communications.

Jim joined IGPA in September 2006 as Communications Manager after spending 19 years with The Associated Press in a variety of roles, including general assignment reporter, broadcast editor, desk supervisor and correspondent. He also spent six years in radio news at stations in South Dakota. He became Director of Communications in 2007 and was appointed Assistant Director in July 2009.

Jim is a native of Illinois but grew up and went to school in North Dakota and South Dakota, graduating from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1979.
