James Kuklinski

James Kuklinski is Matthew T. McClure Professor in the Department of Political Science at Urbana-Champaign and the Institute of Government and Public Affairs.
His primary interests include racial attitudes, the quality of citizen decision-making, the relationship between public opinion and legislative policy-making, and the use of experiments in social scientific research.
Professor Kuklinski's Institute activities include holding a major assembly on electoral systems. Funded by the Joyce Foundation, the assembly deliberated a possible return to cumulative voting in Illinois house elections. Kuklinski has also appeared on national radio and television broadcasts to discuss race and affirmative action. He testified before Congress on the same topics.
