Don Fullerton

Don Fullerton, once a deputy assistant secretary of the treasury, joined IGPA in August 2008. He began his appointment as Gutsgell Professor in the Urbana-Champaign’s Department of Finance in 2008 after spending a year as visiting professor in the department.

“Study of environmental policy is inherently interdisciplinary,” Fullerton says. “I value my (Department of) Finance colleagues highly, but also need other colleagues in economics, policy and related fields. IGPA does some of the highest quality research in all those fields. It will be great to have an office on the same floor with others doing policy analysis.”

Fullerton spent 14 years as Addison Baker Duncan Centennial Professor of Economics at the University of Texas. He also served on the faculty at Carnegie-Mellon University, the University of Virginia and Princeton University. He served in the Treasury Department from 1985-87, during  debate on the Tax Reform Act of 1986.

Fullerton will specialize in research on energy and environmental policy issues at IGPA. He also has done extensive research on taxation issues.
