The University of Illinois Flash Index -- the first monthly barometer of the Illinois economy -- dropped to 100.6 in October, down from 101.1 in September. This is the Flash Index's lowest level since August 2004. IGPA economist J. Fred Giertz discusses the implications of this month's index.
