Coordinated by the Institute of Government and Public Affairs (IGPA) and the Center for State Policy and Leadership (CSPL) at the University of Illinois Springfield, the Illinois Voter Study is an annual survey project launched in 2025 to better understand voters’ opinions, attitudes, and political behavior in Illinois. Each year’s survey includes a core set of questions that are repeated over time, along with questions addressing issues and topics relevant to Illinois politics and public policy for that year. The number of questions and length of data collection may vary from year to year, with shorter surveys conducted during election years. Data presented in the dashboard are currently unweighted. Future versions of the dashboard will provide both unweighted results and results weighted to reflect the demographic characteristics of the Illinois voting population.
