IGPA Faculty Coffee Chat with Jeremy Riel – The AI Policy Atlas Project & the Future Tech & Policy (FTP) Podcast

IGPA invites you to our next faculty coffee chat on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 11 – 12 noon CT, virtually, on Zoom.

Dr. Jeremy Riel will discuss recent work from IGPA’s Science and Technology Working Group, including the AI Policy Atlas Project and the Future Tech & Policy (FTP) Podcast. The session will highlight emerging AI laws across the country, what they mean for Illinois policy, and key issues such as data use, child safety, transparency, risk mitigation, and the broader societal impacts of AI across sectors.

Jeremy Riel is an assistant professor of educational psychology at the UIC College of Education and director of the TRAILblazer Lab. His work focuses on AI for learning and instruction, human–AI interaction, AI education, and the policy implications of emerging technologies. His projects have been supported by the Institute of Education Sciences, the National Science Foundation, and Google.
