On Monday, February 13 a young alumna who has worked her way to the top of health care advocacy in Illinois will share her story and inspire motivation at this semester’s first event in the Young Alumni Series: Illini in Government and Politics. IGPA and Illinois Connection are excited to welcome Stephanie Faraci, manager of state government relations for the entire Provena-Ressurection Health System, into our roster of dynamic alumni speakers.
Less than eight years ago, Stephanie was a great example of an Illini who thrived on involvement and leadership. In the Greek system, she was President of her sorority as well as a member of the Panhellenic Council. In student government, she dedicated her efforts as a member of the Student Election Committee and advisor to the Student Trustee. Faraci supplemented all of the above with her independent passion for advocacy work, which she performed through the Illinois State Board of Higher Education. This is what planted the seed for her involvement with the valuable health care work that she does today.
Faraci manages all state government relations for the Provena-Ressurection Health System. This means that she works with state government in order to promote or provide information and advice about legislation that will benefit Provena-Ressurection’s six hospitals, 23 nursing homes and 14 home care facilities. Health care is a huge and important industry; therefore, Faraci’s role is extremely important to all Illinois citizens. Stephanie Faraci is a young Illini alumna who lives her passion and has great insight to offer. She is a model of motivation, as well as a model of family life—living in Champaign with her husband Champaign City Councilman Paul Faraci, daughter Ellie and puppy Ham Sandwich.
The future of health care in Illinois affects us all; therefore, if you’re interested in government and politics, involvement in this industry is essential. Come to this Young Alumni Series: Illini in Government and Politics in Illini Union Room 405 on Monday, February 13 at 7 pm to hear from Stephanie Faraci about her exciting path to success, and what you can do to start yours.
